Exploring the legends, flavors, and hidden secrets of the Lone Star State.
Experience the Heart of Texas
From the shadows of haunted hotels to the legendary pits of the Hill Country, witness the journey through the unique sights and flavors of the Lone Star State.
The Sights of Season 1
From the roar of the rodeo to the crystal-clear springs of the Hill Country, these are the unforgettable stops on our journey.
The Bites of Season 1
From the decades-old pits of Austin to the festival grounds of New Braunfels, we tasted the very best of the Lone Star State. This isn’t just food—it’s Texas tradition on a plate.
Wurstfest Wonders
You haven’t truly experienced New Braunfels until you’ve hit Wurstfest. We tracked down the festival’s modern culinary legend: the Macaroni and Cheese Sausage on a Stick. It’s exactly as wild and delicious as it sounds.
B Daddy’s BBQ
Authentic Texas BBQ in the heart of Helotes. We came for the low-and-slow brisket, but the owner surprised us with a personal ghost story that proved some of the best BBQ spots have a few spirits lingering in the shadows.
The Capital Icons
We hit the absolute mainstays of the capital. From the vintage curbside vibes at Top Notch Hamburgers (an Austin staple since 1971) to the legendary Sam’s BBQ, where the walls are covered in history and the pits have been hot since 1957.
The Taproom
Located on the historic downtown square, this is a local favorite for a reason. We dove into their famous baby back ribs and massive burger menu, all backed by an incredible selection of over 100 beers on tap.
The Frights of Season 1
From historic manors to subterranean secrets, we explored the spirits that still linger in the shadows of Central Texas.
Victoria’s Black Swan Inn
One of Texas’ most active sites. We joined Curious Twins Paranormal to investigate the tragic history and persistent energy of this legendary estate.
Black Whale Pub
Staff often report an eerie shift in the air when the lights go down and cleanup begins. The local spirits are not quite ready to leave and are waiting for one final round at closing time.
Root Cellar Cafe
Located in the historic Donaldson building, this local staple has stories that go beyond the kitchen. We sat down to discuss the entities that staff encounter after hours.
